The Big Cheese Restaurant In Yokohama

Yesterday was so much fun!

I got to meet my amazing friend, L, and we went to the Cheese Restaurant in Yokohama for yummy, cheesy-goodiness. It only two almost two months of work to get the reservation at a time we were both free.  DSC07865

The place is super popular, if you show up without a reservation you’ll wait for hours in line.  Yokohama was so packed yesterday because of the three day weekend and graduation day at many of the schools.

Our booking was pretty late so we killed time by hanging out a cafe and talking.  I love friends you can just sit around with and have a fun talk with for hours, hardly noticing the time zip by.

Since St. Patty’s day was recent, we started off with some drinks. The berry one was rather tart.

The menus are so cute, and you can draw on them.  The restaurant provides colored pencils and you can draw on the lone white sheet of paper that each table has. People get playful and make an artwork of their tabletops.

That was my sketch.  I can never get the eyes to line up right.  Oh well.

They brought us out our cheese fondue to dip the breadsticks in, and afterwards they brought the steak.  DSC07883

You cut up the steak and then dip the chunks in the cheese fondue for a delicious cheese flavor.

We tried out the basil flavor.  The cheese part was yummy, but I found the basil a little too strong and overwhelming.  I still pigged out.

My favorite was this ice cream that you pour expresso coffee on.  Coffee and ice cream?  Is there a more heavenly combo?

Anyhow, I’m still having trouble looking at these pics and not wanting to go back.  A perfect restaurant for a lovely meet up.

When I was in my twenties, I moved to Japan and met a man there. We embarked on our adventure through life and love. I have lived with him in Japan ever since. We want to start a family, but that is proving difficult. I struggle with infertility. We almost had a child, but that ended in tragedy. Now we enjoy each day and hope that one day we'll hear the pitter-patter of little feet and the bubbly laughter of a child. In the meantime, I enjoy writing, love, studying, traveling, and working. These posts are my thoughts and stories of my life here.
