Monkeying Around in Arashiyama (Kyoto)

More of Sean’s trip during the Obon Holidays.

While we were looking around Arayashima, we took Sean up Iwatayama Mountain to the Monkey Park up there (actually a place of research for university students as well).

Japan was in the middle of a heat wave as you can see by how sweaty my brother gets in the video.  Luckily, Sean learns to blend in with the local monkey tribe and become one of them.

These adorable monkeys just patiently stuck their hands through the bars and waited expectantly for the humans to give them food — that you could buy from nearby.

When I was in my twenties, I moved to Japan and met a man there. We embarked on our adventure through life and love. I have lived with him in Japan ever since. We want to start a family, but that is proving difficult. I struggle with infertility. We almost had a child, but that ended in tragedy. Now we enjoy each day and hope that one day we'll hear the pitter-patter of little feet and the bubbly laughter of a child. In the meantime, I enjoy writing, love, studying, traveling, and working. These posts are my thoughts and stories of my life here.
